At least seven students from Ngetmoi Girls secondary school, and their teacher, were yesterday involved in a road accident near the Tenges-Kabarnet highway, in Baringo Central.
School principal Joyce Namasaka confirmed the incident saying the students were on board a Nissan Shuttle, alongside other passengers, when the accident happened some metres from the school.
The students who are reported to have serious injuries were rushed to ngo Referral Hospital alongside other passengers.
“The students had boarded the public service vehicle after we released them to go home and collect school fees,” Namasaka said while speaking at the Baringo Referral Hospital.
Three of the girls were in stable condition, while two are admitted at the hospital the principal confirmed as reported by Citizen Digital.
The teacher who was in the company of the students was rushed to Eldoret Referral Hospital having sustained serious injuries.
Eye witnesses said that the vehicle lost control, veered off the road before rolling several times.
This comes after Pwani University bus carrying at least 30 students collided with a 14-seater matatu in the Kayole area along the Nairobi-Naivasha Highway before overturning.
