This Youtube video allegedly depicting Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro issuing a warning to the Kenya Kwanza government regarding escalating fuel prices is FALSE.
“Ni sisi tulikueka kwa hiyo kiti unajisahau tukiumia (We are the ones who put you in that seat, you forget yourself when we are hurting) shock as Ndindi Nyoro lectures ruto,” the caption accompanying the video reads.
The video claims that Nyoro is calling out the Kenya Kwanza government over recent fuel price increases. The video was posted 2 days after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced fuel price increase on their X handle.
On September 14, 2023, EPRA increased fuel prices, with petroleum going up by Sh16.96 per litre, diesel by Sh21.32 per litre and kerosene by Sh33.13 per litre to sell at Sh211.64, Sh201, and Sh202.13, respectively, in Nairobi.
To confirm the video’s authenticity, we performed a keyword search and established that it was posted on Youtube by Kenya Digital News in September 2021.
In the video, Nyoro was giving Uhuru Kenyatta, the previous president, an ultimatum to reduce the fuel prices within 24 hours.
Mtoto News examined a video on YouTube claiming that Ndindi Nyoro is giving a warning to the Kenya Kwanza Government on fuel price increase and found it to be FALSE.
