FALSE: This video of Francis Atwoli supposedly reconciling with Raila is not from September 2023

This video on TikTok purportedly showing Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli giving Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga cows as a way of reconciliation after ditching President Willliam Ruto’s camp is FALSE.

The video has a caption that reads: “Breaking news: Atwoli meets with Raila to reconcile after dumping him and join Ruto.”

Atwoli supported Odinga during the 2022 general elections. However, he switched allegiance after the elections and rallied behind President ruto.

A Google reverse image search revealed that NTV posted the video in December 2021 and indicated that it was captured as Atwoli gifted cattles to Raila and his wife,  Ida Odinga. 

“Raila always joins us every December, 26. We have a small function here which my wife will preside over. I know Raila will be running starting next year. The cow will provide milk that you will use while on the campaign trail,” Atwoli said in the video.
