The DP was not at the event where the photo was taken.

This photo shared on Facebook supposedly showing Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua peeping as President William Ruto welcomes King Charles III is ALTERED.

Posted on  31 October 2023, the image purportedly shows DP Gachagua looking through a window as Ruto introduces the king and queen of England to the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

“And who is peeping from the window. It’s the investor I told you about. Forget about him, meet my deputy,” the post reads.

The photo was shared as the king and queen  began their four-day state visit to Kenya on 31 October 2023.

Mtoto News performed a TinEye reverse  image search and established that DP Gachagua is not in the original photo.

The photo under investigation was manipulated by adding the image of Gachagua looking from the window.

The original photo was also published here.

On 31 October 2023, when the doctored image was published, Gachagua was outside the country. He jetted back hours after the photo was published.
