FALSE: This video claiming to show a Kenyan man running over his wife in Texas, USA is misleading

The video is of  a New Jersey man running over a woman who was trying to photograph his vehicle as he fled from an accident scene.

This Facebook post  featuring a video supposedly showing a Kenyan man running down his wife in Texas, USA, is FALSE.

The disturbing video captures a car relentlessly chasing and repeatedly running over a woman.

“A Kenyan man ran down his wife, who kicked him out of his own house he bought abroad in Texas USA.There are a lot of such marital killings in the US daily due fights relating to property. African women have turned into monsters. Marriage should be a genuine contract not one that has some selfish intentions!.. shared from WhatsApp,” reads the post.

Mtoto News conducted a Google reverse image search on a screenshot from the video and determined that the incident occurred in Elizabeth, New Jersey in April 2022.

The New York Post published an article on the video, where they identified the driver as Vincent Jean, a New Jersey man.

A keyword search for Vincent Jean led to an article by NBC New York, which reported that he has been charged with attempted murder for repeatedly running over a woman in a road rage incident in Elizabeth on 11 April 2022. 

According to the article, Jean repeatedly ran over the woman while she was trying to photograph his license plate before fleeing in his SUV. 

The incident was also published by Daily Mail and the US Times.
