Convicted American Paedophile Terry Ray Krieger, Denied Bail in New Defilement Case Despite Previous Release

November 21, 2023

Terry Ray Krieger, an American citizen and convicted paedophile released in November 2022, has been denied bail in a recent defilement case at the Mavoko Law Courts in Athi River, Kenya. Accused of defiling a 3-year-old girl at Great Wall Gardens in Athi River, Krieger appeared in court on Tuesday following his arrest on November 9, with the initial arraignment taking place on November 10.

Trial magistrate Barbra Ojoo firmly denied bail, characterizing Krieger as a fugitive of justice based on his conduct and prior criminal record. Despite a plea for leniency citing his status as an elderly individual in need of urgent medical care, the magistrate found no evidence to substantiate this claim.

During the November 10 arraignment, Krieger pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and being in the country illegally. Magistrate Ojoo has scheduled the case for mention on November 27.

Krieger’s troubled history includes a previous conviction for paedophile-related charges, where he was sentenced to a 50-year jail term on December 2, 2014. In that case, he was accused of filming minors in compromising positions and circulating explicit content. In a surprising turn of events, Justice Justus Bwonong’a freed Krieger from Kamiti GK Prison in November 2022, stating that ordering a retrial would be both unfair and oppressive.

Despite his release, Krieger finds himself back in court, facing serious charges once again. The case highlights the complexities surrounding the release and monitoring of individuals with a history of sexual offenses.
