At just nine years old, Fleur Randa is possibly Africa’s youngest sports photographer—and maybe even the youngest in the world. She gained widespread attention on Friday, June 2, after photos of her covering the Cameroon national football team’s practice went viral.
Fleur’s passion for photography comes from her father, Kendji Nick Lionel, a professional photographer. She often accompanied him to sports events, learning the craft and developing her own skills.
During the training session, Fleur was seen sharing her photos with players from the Indomitable Lions, including goalkeeper André Onana, who is set to join Inter Milan. Fans online were excited to see such a young girl impressing professional athletes with her talent.
Many believe that Fleur has the potential to cover matches outside of Cameroon, and she might soon get that chance in Tanzania, where the Cameroon team is set to face Burundi on June 8.
