HOAX: This TikTok video advertising jobs at Quickmart supermarket is a scam

August 1, 2023

Quickmart Supermarket has disowned the job advertisement shared in the video

This video shared on TikTok with a poster claiming that Quickmart supermarket is hiring for different roles is a HOAX.

The video was captioned“#usiachwe nyuma (don’t be left behind), got your back.”

Some of the roles outlined include; cashiers, chefs, drivers and cleaners among others.

Among the requirements is a food handlers certificate, which the advert claims can be provided at a cost of Sh675, for those who do not have it.

To authenticate the job advertisement, we checked Quickmart’s website, Twitter and Facebook pages for any such vacancies, but there was none.

On the supermarket’s verified Twitter page, we found a post dismissing the alleged vacancies.

“Don’t get tricked! Stay on the safe side by confirming any job adverts by calling us on 0717904904 or checking our website http://quickmart.co.ke,” the retail chain posted.
