In Bunyala Sub-County, Kenya, a serious child abuse case has come up, and detectives are now looking for two men: Edwin Ogolla and Denis Asabu. In August 2024, a video recorded in Musoma showed Ogolla, the child’s uncle, violently beating the young child. Shockingly, the child’s father, Asabu, filmed the assault instead of stopping it.

This video has caused great concern in the community, revealing a terrible incident where a child was seriously hurt. The injuries became worse because there was a delay in getting the child the medical help they needed. After the video became public, child welfare officers quickly arranged for the child to get medical care and documented the injuries in a report.

As detectives investigate further, they are gathering statements from witnesses to fully understand what happened. There is also concern that Ogolla and Asabu may have fled to a nearby country to escape punishment. Law enforcement is working hard to find them and ensure they face justice.

The community is shocked and angry, with many finding it hard to believe that such violence could happen within a family. This incident has led to important talks about child safety and the duty of adults to protect children from harm.

As the investigation continues, authorities are focused on caring for the child and seeking justice for this case of abuse. They hope that by speaking openly about these issues, similar incidents can be prevented in the future, making it safer for all children.
