Children Voices, Children Choices.

In many places, children are often seen but not heard. Society usually treats them as silent observers, not as people who can take part in decisions. Mtoto News is breaking this old way of thinking. As a media house focused on children, we are not just telling their stories-we are letting children tell their own stories. Here, children are not just watching; they are leading, sharing their ideas, showing their talents, and making real decisions.

Mtoto News welcomes every child-young kids, teenagers, children  abled differently , and those from all backgrounds. We give them a place to follow their passions, speak up, and lead. Children write books, host podcasts, produce shows, join workshops, advocate for their rights, and even influence policy. They make choices, celebrate, have fun, paint, and bring their ideas to life-all led by the children themselves.

Among our many projects, “Get to Know More” is a hidden treasure. This educational website uses animated characters, Ade and Abena, to help children understand important topics like safety, budgeting, and government bills. It makes complex issues simple and fun through stories
.While some of our content is well-known, projects like “Get to Know More” show the depth and variety Mtoto News offers behind the scenes.

We also create content for different age groups. Shajara Teens Magazine covers what teenagers care about-fashion, movies, technology, and real-life stories-in a lively and inclusive way. For younger kids, Shajara for Little Ones brings happiness with colorful, age-appropriate content that sparks curiosity and learning.

But Mtoto News is more than just content. We are building a movement. The Africa Children’s Summit (ACS) is a groundbreaking event made by children, for children. Its goal is to make sure children are seen, heard, and engaged. The first summit held in  Nairobi brought together over 300 children from different countries, both in person and online. The second summit in Johannesburg, South Africa  was even bigger, with support from the South African president and government. Children spoke up boldly about their concerns and hopes.

Another exciting part of Mtoto News is the Hobby Hub, where children can discover their talents in music, painting, writing, or science. It’s a creative playground where kids learn not just what they love, but who they are.

Mtoto News is not just a media house-it’s a revolution for visibility, inclusion, and child-led innovation. We believe children are not just the future-they are the present. When we give them the tools, space, and trust, they don’t just speak-they lead.
