We all want a world where every child is born healthy, strong and ready to play .Denmark has done something important to make sure that every child  is born healthy ,safe and free from certain diseases such as HIV/AIDS which are usually transmitted from the mother to the child especially when they are being born.

Denmark is a country in Europe, and it has officially become the first country in its part of the world to stop two very deadly diseases ,HIV and syphilis transmission from mothers to their babies.

Sometimes, when a mother is sick, the infectious virus  can be transferred  to the baby while the baby is still growing inside the mothers womb. But Denmark came up with a solution in order to solve these issues. They have made it easy for every pregnant woman, now they can be able to see a doctor for free. The doctors give the mothers  a simple test to see if they have any “infectious disease” in their blood, if they do, the doctors give them special medicine that acts like a shield, protecting the baby from getting infected with the mothers disease.

By doing this for many years, Denmark reached a “gold medal” level of health. The World Health Organization (WHO), which is like the world’s team of super-doctors, checked all the records and said, “Great job, Denmark! You did it!”

This is such happy news because it shows that when doctors, parents, and leaders work together, they can keep babies safe from birth. It gives hope to other countries all over the world; including here in Africa, that we can also protect our youngest heroes and make sure they start life with a big, healthy smile.
