This photo on Facebook purportedly showing Raila Odinga Stadium in Kenya’s Homa Bay county is FALSE.
The photo was accompanied by a text reading: “Raila stadium in homabay chalo yurop.” which translates to “Raila Stadium in Homa Bay looks like Europe”
To confirm the post’s authenticity, we conducted a Google reverse image search which identified the stadium as being Tottenham Hotspur.
Furthermore, we discovered a post dated March 2022 on the official Tottenham Hotspur X (formerly Twitter) account. This post provided a comprehensive account of the construction process of the stadium.
Additionally, a keyword search on Facebook led us to this video posted by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, showcasing the new stadium.
The authentic Raila Odinga stadium is structurally different from the photo under investigation.
