This X post with a photo claiming to show Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya leader Raila Odinga’s vehicle that was allegedly destroyed in Migori County is FALSE.
Odinga was in Migori on 8 September 2023 for a leaders’ forum. Media reports indicate that there was chaos as a section of youth blocked a former premier from accessing the meeting venue.
The photo was accompanied by a text reading: “Breaking news Hon. Raila Odinga’s Car destroyed in Migori as chaos erupts Raila had just landed!”
To verify the authenticity of this post, we conducted reverse image searches on Google and TinEye, but we did not find a corresponding photo.
Subsequently, Mtoto News performed a keyword search and found this article by The Star which reported that the car belonged to ex-Suna MP, Joseph Ndiege.
Furthermore, we found articles by Tuko.co.ke and Kenyans.co.ke also reporting on the same incident
Tuko.co.ke also published the image of the car and indicated that it belonged to the ex-MP.
