Police in Bungoma County have arrested a woman named Anne Nanyama Wabwile, a 50-year-old individual, who they believe is involved in child trafficking. Anne Nanyama Wabwile was caught with a five-year-old boy she allegedly planned to sell for Sh15 million. This arrest has shocked the community, as child trafficking is seen as a terrible crime.
The suspect, who lives in Kakamega Town, was arrested in Bungoma and She is now being held at Bungoma Police Station while detectives investigate further.
This arrest comes after a worrying incident where an eight-year-old girl named Linda Pendo went missing from Kanduyi Deb Primary School on April 1, 2024. This has put everyone on edge about the safety of their children in the area.
The police commander, Francis Kooli, has asked parents to be extra careful and watch over their children closely. He stressed the importance of protecting children from harm and asked parents to take extra precautions during this time.
Anne Nanyama is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, where she will face charges related to child trafficking.
