On 23rd September 2025, sad moods completely covered Roborwo village in Rongena-Manaret ward in Bomet county as thousands of mourners gathered to bid farewell to a 13 year old Emmanuel Kimutai whose life was cut short by the very person meant to protect him.
Emmanuel was a pupil at Chebugon primary school in Rongena-Manaret ward Bomet county and he died just a day before his school prayer day.
He was alleged to have been beaten by his father because he had eaten bread and milk in his uncle’s house.
According to the post-mortem findings given out by Kapkatet hospital in Kericho county, Emmanuel died due to lack of oxygen and internal bleeding, the doctor goes on to say that there was blood trauma to the chest which caused injuries to the lungs,liver and spleen.
The doctor also mentioned that they found the fresh and old scars in Emmanuel’s head,chest and the lower limbs.
No child should face such cruelty,
We must protect children,violence is never a form of discipline.
